As I awake early this morning, I begin to think of the type of dad I had growing up. My family loss such a great father so early in life. But, we hold on to quality memories.

I can always remember my dad being there to help people. With the little time my siblings and I had with him, we had to share him with an entire community. He was a dad to all in our community…completely unselfish. I am always reminded about how much he would give of himself.

I say this so you don’t lose sight of what is happening today, right now at this time, while we think about where we are during this pandemic. Spend quality time with those you love and remember we are all here for a purpose. Put yourself aside and be strong. As a people, we can get through this keeping in mind that there is someone out there desperately needing your/our help. We must be quiet and still long enough for God to reveal where that need must be provided.

Together we build, together we encourage, together we accomplish as a society what we may not be able to do alone. We do this as a community. That’s how my dad did it and that is why MaknADiffrnce was created. To support those who need healing, faith, help and guidance.

“Faith is taking the first step even when you don’t see the whole staircase.” —Martin Luther King Jr.
